Folks, it is really simple - Country Music is by far the most sexist genre of music. If you added up all the awards given since 1960 in categories both sexes can win you will find a huge disparity between men and women. Women have to work twice as hard to make it. Zac Brown? Instead of Carrie or Taylor? C'mon that is a totally sexist nomination. As the author points out only once has there been more than one female nominated for this category. Enough said. Personally I do not even listen to any men singers in Country Music. I only listen to the women so I see on a weekly basis the discrimination especially in the top 20. It is almost uniformly 15 men and 5 women - sometimes it varies but really George Strait could sing Row Row Row Your Boat and it would go straight to number one yet female after female artist come out with great songs and barely crack the top 10. Kellie Pickler, Sara Evans, Lorrie Morgan, Jennifer Hanson (Jennifer Hanson is unbelievably good and she doesn't even get a sniff from Country fans), Lori McKenna, SHeDaisy, the list is endless. Logic, observation and even the lyrics themselves all point to a sexist attitude toward female artist in the Country genre. I realize Shania, Taylor, Carrie, Lee Ann, The Chicks and Alison Krauss all get their props but they are the exception not the rule. Heck even Trisha and LeAnn have a heck of a time cracking the top 20 these days and forget about new artist, Kerry Harvick, Delana Stevens, Shevy Smith, Mindy Smith et al - the list is endless. Toby Keith could fart and it would go to number 1. Seriously, get a grip- the answer to the author's question is one word - sexist. Go ahead and pick me apart now because I called y'all sexists. The truth hurts doesn’t it? Only one Gal a year for EOTY and this year it is Miranda. Good for her, she is awesome. Too bad for Carrie - she is the victim of sexism, subtle yet always present.
New England moved quickly to shore up its rapidly depleting secondary Saturday, trading an undisclosed draft choice to Kansas City for S Jarrad Page.
News of the trade came on the heels of the Patriots' announcement that they were placing S Brandon McGowan on injured reserve with a chest injury. McGowan started 11 games last season and was being counted on as a top backup this season. Earlier the team had placed starting CB Leigh Bodden on I.R. with a shoulder injury.
Page skipped OTAs, minicamps and all of training camp while refusing to sign his restricted free-agent tender as he demanded to be traded. The Chiefs announced Friday that he had signed his tender of $1.759 million, amid speculation that he would be shipped out of Kansas City.
In another trade Saturday, New England acquired veteran LB Tracy White from Philadelphia for an undisclosed 2012 draft pick.
Earlier in the day, the Patriots released OLB Derrick Burgess, WR Sam Aiken and LBs Eric Alexander and Pierre Woods. Other cuts were QB Zac Robinson, RBs Thomas Clayton and Chris Taylor, TEs Carson Butler and Rob Myers, LB Thomas Williams, S Sergio Brown, CB DeAngelo Willingham, DB Ross Ventrone, WRs Buddy Farnham, Darnell Jenkins and Rod Owens, and O-linemen George Bussey, Ted Larsen, Rich Ohrnberger and Thomas Welch.

Doing his best to go unnoticed, Zac Efron was spotted out and about in Los Angeles, California on Saturday afternoon (September 4).
Trying to hide behind a hoodie, the "Charlie St Cloud" stud flashed glimpses of his mustache and beard as he busily went about the day's errands.
On the career front, Zac is looking forward to participating in the filming of the Scott Hicks directed drama "The Lucky One".
Co-starring Taylor Schilling, the flick is about "a Marine who returns to North Carolina after serving three tours in Iraq and searches for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war."
Hey Zac! What you said about people wanting something (ie: to be rich), but not willing to put in the required effort...... That's a real pet peeve of mine! I have no tolerance for those kinds of attitudes. I have often gotten on a soapbox about how people say they want to be rich but are actually lying to themselves. Not only are they usually too lazy to set goals and work towards them, but in truth, they are more comfortable in their current situation. Great post Jon!! Thanks for being an inspiration to mid-level affiliates like myself. Danger My recent post My journey to internet marketing

I agree that Prim should be Chloe Moretz, Lionsgats, many people have left great suggestions for the role of some characters, however, Bella from twilight is not one of the better options. oh, and Zac Efron is to much of a pretty boy, if the movie will be accurate, don't use him!!
Zac Brown is GREAT in concert saw him in Orlando at UCF!!! the band Kicks Butt in concert check out some video on iTunes Miranda Lambert should be receiving ALL the awards for "Revolution" its by far the BEST ... yes the BEST country music out there today!!!

The African Union has approved a feasibility study for the creation of an African Space Agency
Science fiction writer Larry Niven shrewdly observed: "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space programme." Africa, the cradle of mankind, has been slow to heed the warning, but that could be about to change.
A decision by the African Union to approve a feasibility study for the creation of an African Space Agency prompted debate. A summit of ministers agreed that the study would also draft a common space policy for the 53 member countries. Some commentators argue that a rival to Nasa could provide jobs and spin-off technology. Others said the continent can ill-afford to pour scarce resources into stargazing when millions continue to face poverty, disease and food shortages.
But the future is already here, if unevenly distributed. Astronomers have worked in Cape Town for centuries and in 1820 established the Royal Observatory at the Cape of Good Hope, the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Africa has launched several satellites and, in 2002, internet millionaire Mark Shuttleworth flew on a Russian Soyuz rocket to become the first African in space.
The International Astronomical Union (IAU) recently awarded Cape Town its Global Astronomy for Development Office to help take astronomy to the developing world. Africa is also competing with Australia in a bid to host the world's most powerful radio telescope, able to peer back billions of years in time.
An international panel is expected to announce the winner from the two shortlisted continents in 2012, with the victor hosting the £1.25bn Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope, 50 times more sensitive and 10,000 times faster than any other radio imaging telescope built.
The SKA telescope would eventually consist of about 3,000 antennas, half concentrated on the outskirts of Carnarvon in the Northern Cape in South Africa, with the rest distributed in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Ghana, Mauritius, Madagascar, Kenya and Zambia.

Brenna: you are preaching to the choir. I love Brad and Keith, and of course Brad deserves to win EOTY, possibly years ago. But the snub of Brad, does not excuse the snub of Carrie. Carrie still deserved a nomination this year, even if Brad wins, which I hope he does. I agree that opening acts should not be rewarded before the headliners, which is why Miranda, LAdy A, and Zac Brown Band do NOT belong in the EOTY category. But Carrie has earned a nomination. Be fair. Brad deserves the win though.
