Liverpool Prepare Bid For Manchester United Target Steven Defour

Liverpool are all set to launch a 10 million pound bid for Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour to beat interest from Manchester United.

Roy Hodgson regards Defour as an ideal replacement for Inter Milan bound defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is also a admirer of the talented 22-year old player, he famously sent Defour a get well soon message last year when the player broke his foot.

Liverpool are expecting an official bid from Inter Milan for Javier Mascherano soon, there have been reports that Inter have offered Liverpool 15 million pound plus Sulley Muntari but these reports are off the mark.

If Liverpool do secure the signing of Defour it would be a massive boost to the club, Defour is regarded as one of the most talented young midfielders in Europe at the moment and he is four-years younger than the out going Javier Mascherano.

Defour generally plays as a defensive midfielder but is know for his vision and excellent passing ability.

New Sheboygan company eligible for investor tax credits

Startup medical equipment firm Surgical Site Solutions of Sheboygan will be eligible for up to $125,000 in investor tax credits to help launch the company, Gov. Jim Doyle has announced. The company, which was formed two years ago, has been certified by the state as a qualified new business venture, making Surgical Site Solutions investors eligible for a 25 percent tax credit on the amount they invest in the company. The credits will be capped at $125,000 total for investors in the company, meaning the program could help spur up to $500,000 in investments at the firm, according to Tony Hozeny, state Department of Commerce spokesman. The company is in the process of commercializing a small, portable, battery-operated vacuum to remove hair clippings and residue associated with pre-surgery procedures. Called the "ClipVac" system, the device fits surgical clippers and eliminates the use of surgical tape known to introduce contaminants to the surgical area. The device saves time while improving the shave-prep process and lowering the contamination risk through the elimination of surgical tape. "Surgical Site Solutions is built on a foundation of innovative technology and strong leadership," Doyle said in a news release. "I am very excited to support a company that represents the future of Wisconsin's economy."
