Iisus spune ca el este invierea si viata, fiindca el este adevarata viata. de aceea spune ca este si viata nu pentru altceva asa cum le scornesti tu. el este viata fiindca noi trebuie in viata pamanteasca pe care o traim sa ne apropiem cat mai mult de viata pe care a dus-o Iisus pe pamant si acesta sa ne fie ca exemplu nou oamenllor. deci din aceste doua motive el spune ca este viata. si tot Iisus spune. " Faceti fapte bune, faceti milostenii, nu raspundeti raului cu rau". As an art student, this has always been one of my biggest teacher peeves. I don't like when teachers only teach you technique, history and elements. I mean, sure, teach us all of that in elementary school. But, I'm in COLLEGE now! I don't need this fed into me anymore, I know how to paint. That's WHY I'm at art school.

Interesting. What's a peeve for teachers is often also a peeve for students because the teachers will not allow them to be creative. The part about "I tell my students not to draw horses and be more creative." Kind of upset me. If drawing horses makes them happy, then let them draw horses! Heck, you're an art teacher, I thought you would know that anything can be art. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't art.

A point of personal privilege. I would not refer to Mr. Medaille's repartee as 'coarse and offensive'. 'Tiresome and perplexing', perhaps. (I was just about out of patience when he stated I had made an ad hominem attack on the economist D.N. McCloskey when I pointed out in passing that he had used the incorrect personal pronoun to refer to said economist). The trouble you have with the distributist project is as follows: 1. None of the principals is an economist or admits to schooling in economics beyond a small quantum of coursework. None of them admits to schooling in any department of social research other than history. 2. The principal is John Medaille, a.who stated in the course of the discussion that economics is nonsense and that the only economists he would pay any mind to were those who had made utterances congenial to his policy fetishes. b. The principal John Medaille is given to making repeated (and quite germane) factual errors which he refuses to acknowledge. c. The principal John Medaille is given to responding to his interlocutors with forensic red herrings. Points 2a, 2b, and 2c are going to inhibit Mr. Medaille from any sort of critical engagement with the study of the economy. Which means he does not learn much of anything. For these reasons, the distributist project is likely to remain sterile. Mores the pity. It would be agreeable if someone were exploring what to do with the social encyclicals.
